In process and oil & gas industries, the event is meant to be the failure of pressure boundaries such as pipe wall, pressure vessel wall, etc. The activity in assessing the level of existing risks is called "risk assessment", which has to be carried in accordance to relevant codes concerning to it.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Studies to reach good understanding in implementing risk assessment according to its supporting codes and to other related basic knowledge are needed in order to conduct the risk assessment properly. For that reason, this bachelor thesis is intended to dig the method of executing the risk assessment, specifically based on API 581 Risk Based Inspection Base Resource Document code. This bachelor thesis especially focuses on risk assessment for gas processing equipments, with case study taken from the topside of Hang Tuah platform.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The analysis of the case study results in a finding that the gas processing equipments in Hang Tuah platform are dominated by flammable and business interruption risks. The highest risk category is medium high donated by flammable risk. Therefore, higher priority and more attention must be given to equipments possessing this category level of risk. text
