Bandung is tourism destination for Jakarta and its surrounding's citizen. It would be seen that Bandung's street always become more crowded and plat Bs are everywhere in the weekend. Bandung successfully provide totally different atmosphere than Jakarta, which according to Jakarta’s citizen is stressful and too crowded. Of course, these local tourists have lift up Bandung's economical situation, especially in transportation service, culinary, and textile sectors.<p> <br /> <br /> The increase of Bandung's traffic level in 3 years is supported by Cipularang freeway that connects Jakarta and Bandung. The freeway has shorten the Jakarta-Bandung traveling time from 4 hours using Puncak way, to 2,5 hours only. The existence of Cipularang freeway is not only increases the traffic level, but also open up new business opportunity: Jakarta-Bandung-Jakarta shuttle service business.<p> <br /> <br /> Although this business has astonished growth in last 3 years, there is still an opportunity for new player. Based on customer amount data from several shuttle service companies, the existence of new comer does not affect the market share because the amount of customer is keeping increasing. For venture capitalist, this is a good opportunity to invest. In order to be successful in this business, the venture capitalist must pay attention to every aspects, one of them is the risks in the business. <br /> <br /> Most of shuttle service business activities are related to field activities, with customer delivery service as the core activities. That is why the researcher only concentrates in operational risks assessment and management.<p> <br /> <br /> Data collecting process in this research will use interview and field research method. The data are come from 4 shuttle service companies in Bandung. The companies are divided base on their business scale. Company A is a company with bigger business scale than other company in this research. The researcher hopes that this separation of shuttle service companies will give a reference to venture capitalist to estimate the amount of capital needed for this business.<p> <br /> <br /> The conclusion from this research is there is general operational risk for shuttle service business and is not related to the scale of the business. The different scale of business affects the level of each operational risk. The result of this research may help the venture capitalist to predict the operational risks that might occur in the business and the way to manage those risks.
