Summary: | Oil is a nonrenewable natural resource and the existence of oil is very important for human being. Until now, oil still being the principal energy. On the other side, for taking the oil from the bottom earth, it needs big effort and much money. The oil collects from a natural chamber in porous rock which says as reservoir. The reservoir has a dynamic state i.e. pressure, permeability, porosity, and saturation. These parameters determine how much we can produce the oil from the reservoir. To optimize the oil production, a good reservoir management is needed. A reservoir model must be has a good reability through the time. Thus, a process or mechanism to continually update the reservoir model is needed. This final project discusses the use of Ensemble Kalman Filter (EnKF) to update the reservoir model. EnKF used to assimilate the new production data which will be used to correct the model. In this final project, the new assimilated production data is the oil production rate (OPR). Based on the assimilating production data process, EnKF corrects the reservoir permeability model. To obtain the production data, the Reservoir Simulator is used. <br />
