In this research copper based catalyst, which is Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 and Cu/CeO2/Al2O3, were synthesized hydrothermally on a bomb autoclave at high temperature and pressure. X-ray difractogram confirmed the presence of CuO, ZnO, CeO2, and Al2O3 on the synthesized solids. SEM images show that Cu/CeO2/Al2O3 particles are nanosheets with dimension of 40 nm x 350 nm x 1.7 um. Catalytic activity test for steam reforming of methanol reaction on a micro reactor shows 78.10 % conversion for Cu/CeO2/Al2O3 catalyst and 43.60 % for Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 catalyst, each performed at 300 oC, 1 atm. There is no CO detected on the reaction products. <br /> text |
