Jawer kotok leaves (Coleus scutellarioides L. Benth.) is used by Kampung Naga ethnic to cure bareuh (inflammation) by local administered. Study of ethnopharmacology by using focused group discussion on jawer kotok plant and semistructural interview using open ended question to informant. The antiinflammatory activity test is performed using inhibition of carrageenan-induced rat paw edema method. The squeeze of jawer kotok leaves (the squeeze form as same as Kampung Naga) by local administered showed significantly different antiinflammatory activity (p < 0.05) compared with control group at 240, 300, 360 minutes after induced by carrageenan-lambda (after local administered by a squeeze of jawer kotok leaves at 60, 120, and 180 minutes) gave edema percentage 40.14%, 39.81%, 37.74 % and decreases of paw edema percentage 14.09%, 12.71%, 15.70%. Jawer kotok leaves is used traditionally by local administered has pharmacology activity as antiinflammatory. text
