Summary: | Porous TiO2 thin film is a key component in dye sensitized solar cell (DSSC). This research has been developed for the preparation of porous TiO2 thin film by chemical bath deposition. The effect of the precursor volume, mass ratio of urea : solvent (aqua DM/ethanol), duration and temperature of deposition, and heat treatment parameters on the film are studied. SEM, XRD, and FTIR were used to study the effect of these parameters on the quality of the film as well as film composition and structural properties. The XRD spectra of TiO2 films revealed an anatase (101), crystalline structure that is known as the most suitable structure in photocatalysis. The SEM investigations show that sample which was prepared by aqua DM as a solvent, 0.15 M of Ti+4 concentration, mass ratio of urea : solvent 1:5, 60 degrees C temperature deposition with duration 7x24 hours, and 400 degrees C heat treatment yield the best result. Close-packed particles, homogeneous and compact microstructure with 575 nm of the thickness were shown in this sample. Morover FTIR result for TiO2 film have been presented and discussed. |
