Summary:The creative industries as a creative economy forming that was formulated by the Government of Indonesia in 2008, is an interesting topic to be discussed. Even the Government of West Java Province has made this creative economy as a strategic program in it’s economic development, to place human development as a central point of industry. In response to this discourse, as one of the center of the creative industries in West Java, Jatinangor expected to have the opportunity to develop the area based on creativity. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The Opportunities for the creative industries in Jatinangor area for developing human resources development (HRD) needs to be inspected more. In developing a region it is important to understand the potential of themselves, who the actors are,who participate in it and what obstacles and challenges faced by the actors, and so is in the development of craft creative industries in Jatinangor. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> To answer the problems, the thesis focused on the mechanism of the creative industries, including the production process and the creative process, and the actors who are involved in and how the role of actors in supporting the development of creative industries. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> This thesis concluded that in a working mechanism there are some characteristics of the creative industries in Jatinangor, the production process is based on the examples given by the buyer, and there are no new products that become the identity of the area. The identity of the area that appears is in the form of skills / expertise that is owned by the craftsmen (skill). There is no value added for the craftsmen because the marketing is dominated by the distributor. In addition, developing human resources has not been done regularly, it is still depending on the interests of the future craftsmen. However, the learning process is conducted by workers recruiting from the community as the class creative role to the development of human resources that cause a multiplier effect to the other sectors in the form of providing a job opportunity. <br />
