Especially for that function in transportation. To give a guarantee of good performance and safety, diesel engine need some significant elements to support it operation to be suitable. The one of that elements is lubricant. In guarantee to keep the lubricant proper and appropriate, in this assignment present lubricant evaluation which can support diesel engine function in transportation or industry sector. The engine test running in 30000 km for the distance that operation condition appropriate with ASTM D-5500 and engine evaluation method that refer to JASO M-354. The useable vehicle in this test is Isuzu Panther TBR 541-E2 LM25 Smart FF-E, 2500 cc, turbocharger, EURO 2. The result are about some datas from acceleration test, performace test with chassis dynamometer, oil evaluation from laboratorium test of lubricant, engine component dimension and mass change evaluation, and rating test of engine component. This evaluation present influence of engine to component alteration condition related with its mass, dimension, or contaminate contain. Power of engine decrease 18.9%, engine torque decrease 7.1%, acceleration decrease 13%, mass and diameter of engine component change 0.01-2%, 12.5% of average lubricant consumption. With the result that, totaly this evaluated lubricant is good lubricant. text |
