ISOLASI SENYAWA NON ALKALOID DARI LITSEA AMARA BLUME

Litsea amara Blume is one of the spesies of the genus Litsea (family Lauraceae). During the last decades people paid attention to the alkaloid constituents of Lauraceae compared to the non-alkaloid ones. However in this research the non-alkaloid constituents of Litsea amara Blume (L. umbellata Merr...

During the last decades people paid attention to the alkaloid constituents of Lauraceae compared to the non-alkaloid ones. However in this research the non-alkaloid constituents of Litsea amara Blume (L. umbellata Merr), has been investigated which has never been reported earlier. Isolation was carried out by extraction of the root bark of the plant using n hexane and fractionated by column. chromatography using a series of eluents with polarity. A tricyclic sesquiterpene alcohol C15H26O, melting point 124-125°C, was obtained from the benzene fraction, while two other compounds were obtained from the benzene fraction derived from the tree bark. Liebermann-Buchard test showed^ that both compounds were steroids. The first compound, melting point of 129-130°C, was found to be a mixture, which could not be separated. While the second compound melting point of 134-136°C, is still under investigation. text
