Summary: | Offshore pipeline is pipeline that transports hydrocarbon fluids (gas or oil) between offshore production facilities or between a platform to onshore facility. Local buckling could occur at offshore pipeline so that it will disturbs fluids and hydrocarbon transportation. Consequently, It could influence business and or economics.
In this research, analyzed of local buckling and design of buckle arrestor based on API RP 1111-1999 and DNV OS F101-2000. Analysis and design process conducted on different design parameter such as pipe schedule, pipe specification, fabrication factor, etc. This is to know the effect of design process variation on calculation.
Study case in this research is 12 inch export pipeline West Seno that transporting oil from FPU (Floating Production Unit) to onshore (Terminal Santan). Based on API RP 1111, export pipeline will not collapse on maximum depth 1021 m under sea level. Propagating buckle occur on export pipeline from 431.8 m depth at installation and 1021 m depth at operation. Meanwhile based on DNV OS F101, export pipeline collapse at operating condition on 860 m depth. Propagating buckle occur on export pipeline from 217.714 m at operation condition and 406.4 m at installation. Thus, export pipeline must be equipped with buckle arrestor. |
