Summary: | A magnetometer which could measure weak magnetic field is important in nowadays technology. Pulse position method is one of the methods used. The magnetometer consists of two primary coils which have same orientation and a secondary coil. All coils are wound up to a ferromagnetic core. The primary core generated an excitation field so that the secondary coil generated an electric signal. The electric signal is amplified, differentiated and compared to produce square signal. If there was constant external magnetic field then the amplitude of the reference magnetic field changed along with the external field. The amplitude difference caused signal pulse-length difference which show measurement result of the external field. Measurements using the magnetometer designed and made using pulse position method were executed at a faraday cage. The magnetometer was capable to measure magnetic field from 0 up to 60 uT. |
