Summary: | <p align="justify">Internet protocol television (IPTV) is a new develompment in communication software which broadcasting high quality video to user window through network existing. IPTV service which is belong to PT. Telkom uses Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) technology in delivering its services.<p align="justify"><p>IPTV service has not been completely deployed by PT. Telkom. So far, this service had been used in laboratory scale only. Deploying IPTV service in wireline network laboratory, PT. Telkom used Jarlokat as the copper simulator.<p align="justify"><p>In this final project, writer evaluates jarlokat test bed in the wireline network Telkom RDC laboratory by comparing quality parameter of IPTV service which obtained through measurements to quality standar of IPTV service. Quality parameters which are used in this final project are throughput, delay, bit loss, and BER.<p align="justify"><p>Based on evaluation result, writer found that jarlokat conditions in wireline network Telkom RDC laboratory met the requirements of IPTV standar service. Therefore, jarlokat can be used to simulate IPTV service.<p align="justify"><p>After done with the evaluation, using methode intersection range of distance which is obtained from the measurements to ADSL distance standar, writer make a contribution range of distance which can be reached by copper line in the wireline network Telkom RDC laboratory to be used in simulating IPTV service via ADSL. Range of distance copper line which has been determined hopefully can solve the problems specially cost in implementing copper in the field. <br />
