Description
Summary:The purpose of flow simulations in oil reservoir is to create a model that predicts the velocity and pressure distribution. The model is governed by Darcy's Law and Mass Conservation representing velocity (u) and pressures (p) of the flow. The objective of this final project is to solve flow equations for both velocities (u) and pressures (p) by using Control-Volume Mixed Finite Element Method. Two dimensional domains are divided into rectangular grids with pressure (p) at the center. For next step, the problem expands to use irregular grid by using transformation. The velocity across the grid is approximated with the use of shape functions as the bases for velocity function. On the other hand, control-volume scheme can be viewed discretely in Darcy's law that includes test function. Numerical results of velocity (u) and pressure (p) through out the domain are obtained. Error analysis are shown numerically indicating the convergence of the approximation. <br />
