Description
Summary:Self-potential method is one of geophysic methods which measures natural potential signals between two points on the ground surface. Recently, self-potential method has been widely apllied in many field of environmental engineering. In this paper, self-potential method was apllied to study groundwater movement at Palalangon Village, Regency of Bandung, Province of West-Java. In case of groundwater flow, self-potential method measures streaming potentials or electrokinetic potentials which are generated by movement of groundwater through pores and fractures. Objective of this paper is to interpret relationship betwen measured SP signals with hidraulyc conductivities (K) and electrokinetic potential coefficients (C) of the aquifer. Relationship between SP signals with K and C values of the aquifer was solved by carried out Overbeek equations (1952, cited by Kim et al. 2004) as mathematic model, and using K and C values which were measured in laboratory, as geology parameters (Hamzah, 2007). As result of this forward modeling, model of geology has been revealed. Interpretation of the geology model, shows existention of pores and fractures as main aquifer media of this area.
