Description
Summary:Formation of magnetic cloud usually associates with coronal mass ejection (CME) and flare phenomena. Those events may generate shock wave. We study magnetic cloud in relation with shock wave and CME. Magnetic clouds have been identified from the variation of magnetic field obtain from MAG/ACE instrument with 1 hour resolution data during period of September 2, 1997 - June 30, 2006. Then, they will be confirmed from Lepping et al., magnetic cloud model, 1990. Variations of magnetic field on z-direction follow the solar cycle pattern. There were 533 shock wave events on Bz direction and 228 shock wave events on Bx direction. There were 16 magnetic clouds selected. About 10 cases (62%) of magnetic clouds started with the shock wave. Another 6 cases (37%) of magnetic clouds uncorrelated with shock wave. However, magnetic clouds mostly have connection to CME with delay time range from about 3 days to 6 days after its ejection from the Sun.
