Based on the fact, the purpose of this research are to obtain the good method for taking biokerosene from its sources and to test the characteristic of biokerosene so the original quality of biokerosene can be known.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Biological natural resource that was used in this research is Pittosporum ferrugineum plant, also known as Ki Honje. The part of the plant as raw material is the fruit, which <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> contains the skin and the seed. It's used two different method to get the Ki Honje oil, that are steam distillation and Soxhlet extraction. In the extraction method, it's used four variances of solvent, that are hexane (bp. 69 degrees C), dichloromethane (bp. 39,8 degrees C), dietyl ether (bp. 34,6 degrees C), dan asetone (bp. 56,5 degrees C). Then, it was held the bench scale oil removal, using the best method which gives the best in oil yields and the ignition quality. In the last, it was held a standard quality testing for the Ki Honje oil, that are smoke point test and freezing point test.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The results of project shows that distilation methode could not be used to get Ki Honje oil. Extraction in laboratorium scale shows that Ki Honje oil extracted by hexane has the nearest characteristic to biokerosene. text
