Summary: | This Thesis described an investigation of chemical solution to improve the properties of Soil Cement, in particular Bandung Clay with its mineral and high water content. Soil Cement soaked with chemical solution to improve the properties cement about increased strength and reduced settlement characteristics and index of plasticity. Chemical solution can be used as stabilisers and the respective chemicals to be tried ; NaCl, CaC12, KC1, KOH, NaOH and NazCO3. Investigation of the consolidation characteristics, Unconfined Compressive Strength and Atterberg Limit test for natural soil, soil cement and the optimum soil cement with soaked the optimum Chemical about €.5 - 1.5 gmol/1 concentrations and soaked period 1 - 4 days. The following laboratory test, about the consolidation characteristic, Unconfined Compressive Strength and Index Plasticity, the most effective was Cement 6 % and chemicals were KOH and NazCO3. Influence of immersion period between 1 day and 4 days was not grand effect because velocity of reaction were almost done before 1 day. At this time the most economic of improvement the characteristics soil cement in particular Bandung Clay was Na.2CO3. |
