Summary:Coal as an energy resource that the product increases are being use as an alternative for fuel. One of the industry that has been using coal as an energy resource to produce steam in a boiler is the textile industry. But commonly, the type of boiler that are being used in that industry is stoker boiler (fixed bed) with a low efficient. Because of the low efficient of the stoker, the waste that is caused by the stoker is solid waste. The soild waste are bottom ash and fly ash. In general, bottom ash still consist of high carbon which indicate that bottom ash could be recycle as fuel for boiler.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> This research is purpose for technical realizable testing and recycle of coal bottom ash concept in a stoker with low efficient. Fresh coal as a feed is the low rank coal (subbituminous). Despite of that, bottom ash that is use is produce from the textile plant in Bandung. The recycle of bottom ash is through two routes which are direct combustion dan non direct combustion with non carbonisation briquetting.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Bottom ash is dried for the direct combustion. While, for the briquetting route, the bottom ash that has been dried will be briquetted before combustion. The briquetting route, bottom ash, fresh coal, binder, and water will be mixed in a mixer with a variation of composition based on the properties of the bottom ash. After the combustion, it will be analyze based on the capability of ignition, mechanical strength and the integrity while combustioning. The conclusions of this research are the coal bottom ash from the combustion of the stoker could be recycle as fuel for boiler, as the percentage of the bottom ash in the briket composition decreases, then the ignition time will be faster, and increases the caloric value, the addition of coal will increases the mechanical strength of the briquette.
