Description
Summary:Rock asphalt of Buton (Asbuton) is natural asphalt found in Buton island. This asphalt is rock asphalt, that is rock impregnated with asphalt. The impregnated rock (the main rock) is limestone. The particles of asbuton consist of minerals, bitumens, and water, and they are brownish black, porous, and relatively light. When asbuton is extracted, the minerals and bitumens can be separated. The content of the asphalt(bitumen) of the asbuton varies from 10% to 40%. This thesis is the result of the true resistivity measuement of the asbuton and the field measurement using geoelectric method. The geoelectric method employs two-dimensional geoelectric method by means of Wenner-Schiumberger configuration. The field measurement result in longitudinal section of inverted resistivity for subsurface geologic interpretation. The result of measurement shows that the out crop resistivity of the asbuton is between 144 and 166 S2m. The rock containing asphalt has the resistivity interval of 100 to 300 Q m. The tendency of the increase of resistivity can be interpreted that the aspahalt content is higher.
