Summary: | <p align="justify">DC Motor is a common used actuator either in speed control system or position control system. Nowadays DC motor has an important role in the industry. This can be seen from the major use of DC motor in electronic devices. DC motor is usually used for mechanical movement on certain application, such as the rotational movement of paper sheets or rotational movement in CD drive.<p align="justify"><p>This final project will describe about the using of DC motor for speed control system application, from the designing of the system to the hardware implementation. For the controller of the system, a PID controller will be implemented inside ATMega8535 microcontroller. In the other side, an H-Bridge IC LM289 will be used as a motor's driver.<p align="justify"><p>Because the relation between voltage input of DC motor and rotational speed output of DC motor is non-linear, DC motor is not suggested to be used as open loop system in wide range workspace. DC motor is recommended to be used with closed loop controller. This controller has a role to maintain the output of DC motor equals to the setpoint.<p align="justify"><p>At the beginning of the design, keypad will be used as a user interface of the system. However, for the convenient of the user of this controller, then a graphical user interface (GUI) will also be created for the user to give input to controller. The interface which designed using Java is made to simplify the user in tuning PID constant. |
