Summary: | The appropriateness of the treatment dermatologic manifestation of allergic drug reactions in Hasan Sadikin Hospital of Bandung was studied using retrospective data in-patients from January 2006-March 2008. By analyzing the data of MESO form and medical records, there are 81 cases of drug allergy with Steven Johnson Syndrome (51.85%), drug eruptions (39.51%) and fixed drug eruptions (8.64%); the most suspected drugs that cause allergy are paracetamol and amoxicillin; the use of polypharmacy often causes drug allergy (80.25%). Female (65.43%) is the most suffered drug allergy; additionally drug allergy often happened on adult (76.54%). The long of treatment in hospital for drug allergy patients is 7-12 days on 34 patients. During the treatment, generally (51.85%) patients get 7-12 kinds of drugs. Drug that mostly used is corticosteroid. There are 50.62% patients discharges in recovered condition; while 9.52% patients with Steven Johnson Syndrome died after treatment. From the total number of therapy given to the patients, there are 41 cases of inappropriate dosage i.e. 24 cases of over dosage and 17 cases of inadequate dosage; besides 12 antibacterial drugs given by inappropriate frequency. The interaction of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics each happened in 7 and 17 cases. There are 4 antagonist combinations on giving the antibacterial at the same time and 5 cases of giving drugs that have possibility to have cross reactions on using B-lactam antibacterial. <br />
