Summary:Hydroxyapatite-Zirconia Composite Powder has been synthesized using a coprecipitation method. Controlled Synthesis process parameter is pH of solution which were 9,5 and 10,5 while variables being compared are calcination temperatures which were between 800-1000 oC. Characterization of hydroxyapatite powder were obtained using XRD, FTIR and SEM. Efect of calcinations temperatures towards the particle size and cristallinity of hydroxyapatite-zirconia composite powder. Scherrer method was used to obtain mean crystallite size of Hydroxyapatite which were between 12-38 nm and mean crystallite size of Zirconia which were between 5-23 nm. The main impurity was carbonate identified by FTIR. The secondary phase was CaZrO3.
