Description
Summary:Piles foundation is a substructure of the building, which has more abiLity to protect the building from large settlement, compare to other kind foundation. We knew some methods to approach which determine the ultimate bearing capacity, Like method based on theoritical equation, empirical equation, loading test, and equation using dynamic equation. A testing technique for assessment of shaft frictions and coefficient of lateral earth pressure K has been suggested for study of the behaviour of piles in sands. The technique involves tests with a cylinder, where pile and sands were driven into the cylinder sequently. The tests was carried out by giving a shear strength at the pile system, where the sand layer was loaded and the pile was pull out. Method of giving the controlled shear strength was related to the shape of pile foundation included the roughness of the pile surface, gradation of the sands, coefficient of lateral earth pressure K, coefficient of friction between sand and the pile surfacetan ?, relative density of the sand, and confining pressure. The variaty of this tests used of two different pile roughness, smooth and rough and three gradation type. The results of the tests are shaft friction and coefficient of Lateral earth pressure K, related to the basic theory of static analysts of shaft friction.
