The use of strain gauge on long term measurement can cause a shifting (drift) in its measurement result. Strain gauge long term measurement result is also affected by the surrounding temperature variation where the strain gauge is attached.<p> <br />
<br />

This research has a purpose to learn about the measurement result characteristic with an affection of temperature and loading variation. Hopefully, this research can also give a conclusive solution for the drift problem on long term measurement using strain gauge.<p> <br />
<br />
<br />
On this research, there are indoor and outdoor experiments, with and without loading. Each experiment is done on different loading condition and by 3 to 14 days time range. Based on experiment results, it can be concluded that long term measurement result using strain gauge could be drifted. Beside that, it can also be concluded long term measurement result using strain gauge is affected by surrounding temperature and vibration of the place where the strain gauge is attached. |
