With the growth of coverage area and services in GSM (Global Services Mobile) and GPRS technology, user have more choices to access the internet. In order to enable the communication between ethernet protocol (100/10BaseT), which commonly used in local network and GPRS protocol to access the internet, we need additional network device. This device could also be an alternative to satelit communication which usually be used by bank to connect their ATM (Automatic Teller Machine) or POS (Point Of Sales) into their network.<p align="justify"><p>This research is intended to design and implement a secure GPRS router as an alternative solution to provide internet access. This solution could be used to provide network requirement for ATM or POS devices. This router system is an integrated hardware and software solution. Additionally, the research would lay a good support for other research in similar field in the future.<p align="justify"><p>The research has implement an embedded system which capable of routing data from GPRS to ethernet, act as a DHCP Server, Web-server (normal and secure), provide secure channelling for the data routed with 256-bit (minimal) key encryption and could be monitored from remote terminal(s). The embedded system has 1,3 Watt power consumption and only generate heat as much 37oC in the main chips. This system has also tolerate 5,98V to 24V (DC) variation in supply voltage. <p align="justify"><p>This Intel PXA-255 based GPRS-ethernet router, has average transfer-rate of 5 KBps (~40Kbps) and maximal 31 KBps (~248 Kbps) for normal routing, and 1,2 KBps transfer-rate for secure routing. text
