Summary: | The performance of Top and seat with double web angle connection was investigated in this research based on AISC 1997 provision that states a seismic design of structure must be able to accommodate 0.03 radians inelastic rotation under cyclic loading as Special Moment Frame. The connections classified by standards and provision such AISC, ATC, LRFD, and adopt some opinions completing classifications. Some interesting thing showed that by adding connection stiffener increased a connection performance from OMF specification to IMF specification. The connections is not proper used a seismic design because of large pinching, large slip plateau, large drift and small stiffness, so the category for this connections are semirigid-category. Design with Ry=1.5 in Indonesia still should be reconsidered because of found many overstrength coupons. The thesis compared a non-dimensionally with some last research result. It shows that the connections performance in place between endplate and thick-endplate and above of ECCS. A fracture mechanic and deformation, energy dissipation, and ductility are discussed too to support the analysis. |
