Summary: | Changing behavior is something that has to be built in the initial phase before the introduction of the system and the technical option that will be applied. It is to ensure that, in the future, necessity for good sanitation and infrastructure will not only be the government's needs but also become the people's need. Therefore, learning to provide understanding of the environment becomes the vessel to raise awareness to create changes in human behavior into one that concerns about the environment.<p>The purpose of this study is to evaluate the success of the replication and learning activities in handling the environmental issue communally. Analysis was done using qualitative and quantitative description.<p>This study finds that the replication process of handling of the environmental issues was being done independently and can occur due to achieving the right condition. The learning process was classified as an informal learning. Learning process was influenced by the supporting factors. The sustainability of this learning process occurs because of the participant's awareness in spreading the lesson to others. Women's groups was a group whose awareness was easily motivated during the learning process and active in handling the environmental problems. Diversification of handling environmental issues was not part of the replication and the implementation was driven by the understanding and awareness of participants to continue to strive to live healthy and clean, the local structural involvement, the willingness of NGOs to facilitate diversification, the availability of building funding, and and the learning activities about the importance of maintaining the environment is ongoing. Progress of handling environmental issues in each community devided by the progress in handling solid waste. The creativity in product of processing solid waste was thought to have been influences by the level of educatn, easy access and the public figures' attention. Solid waste products have been able to provide economic value to the community. All supporting typology mechanism contributed to the on going education process. The majority of the people responded positively to the learning process and the implementation of the environmental issue handling. The understanding of the society and the benefit felt by the people in general were not relates to the participation occurred. The role of NGOs, initiative group, government, and donor agencies were important in the learning process. On the other hand, people's role outside of the initiative group were lower than the other stakeholders. <br />
