| Summary: | The aim of this research is to study about some codes and meanings of Jalasveva Jayamahe Monument which is one of highly historical project expecially for Indonesian Navy located in Surabaya and become an icon for Surabaya City beside Tugu Pahlawan. Jalasveva Jayamahe Monument is kind of appreciation from Indonesian Navy for their ancestor who are dauntless to struggle for independence especially in Indonesian water territorial.<p>The major study of this research is stressed in reading codes and signs of Jalasveva Jayamahe Monument using the Semiotic method. Research Analysis is qualitative-interpretative supporting with a lot of various literatur which are connected with architecture and also maritime cultures which are consider come close to navy spirit, both are oriented to the ocean. Collecting information performed with literature study and direct observation on Jalasveva Jayamahe Monument location.<p>The research tries to describe codes and meanings implied in Jalasveva Jayamahe Monument, and also the form architectural meanings. Beside of that, the research expected to give some usefull informations about forms and signs application in building explaination through Semiotic, especially Semiotics of Architecture. <br />
