Pavement overlay,one method of pavement maintenance, was used in this research. Overlay thickness was calculated in Jagorawi Toll Road i.e. Cibubur-Cimanggis section (Km 14+200 to Km 19+000). The data needed were deflection, existing pavement structure, traffic volume and pavement temperature. The deflection data was obtained by using the FWD equipment. The cumulative ESAL used for Bina Marga method (RSNI 2004) and EVERSERIES program was 126.612.993 ESAL for lane A and 121.480.005 ESAL for lane B. Due to the overlay thickness resulted from EVERSERIES was very fluctuated, the segmentation was needed to divide the total length of research study into several sections and to achieve the effective overlay design.<p>Based on the Bina Marga method (RSNI 2004), the overlay thickness for lane A are: 7 cm on segment I, 4 cm on segment II and 5 cm on segment III. While for lane B, the overlay thickness are 4 cm on segment I, 4 cm on segment II and 4 cm on segment III. The overlay thickness calculated on each segment was depend on the FWD deflection i.e. the higher the deflection the thicker the overlay thickness. On the other hand, the result of the EVERPAVE program showed that the overlay thickness for lane A are 31 cm, 23 cm and 30 cm, respectively. While for lane B, the overlay thickness are 25 cm, 23 cm and 24 cm, respectively.<p>The general conclusion of direction A and B, showed that the special investigation was needed in some sections, for example Km 14+200 on direction A and Km 15 +500 on direction B, this is due to the calculated overlay thickness was very high. text |
