Batang Sinamar is expected to fulfill water demand around its basin area due to economical growth and the increasing of water demand in various sector. Thus, it's required an equilibrium analysis between water availability and water demand to see the existing water potential so that it can be managed and exploited optimally and efficiently and having continuation in the future. So far, in Tanah Datar Sub-Province region, Batang Sinamar has been exploited to fulfill domestic demand, breeding and irrigate some of rice field area resides in Lintau Buo District. The rice field area which is irrigated technically with a width of 449 hectare only, but if it is seen from the regional condition it is potentially to be developed becomes a width of 2228 hectare. In analyzing water availability it is applied water equilibrium principle by using NRECA Method, Fj.Mock Method and Water Balance TSA-ITB and then it is selected the most appropriate model with the location of the study and it is generated to get synthetic discharge from the rainfall data since the year 1989 up to 2004. To be able in managing water allocation according to priority, justice and efficiency, hence it is done the simulation of water allocation in Batang Sinamar according to water demand for each sector at the existing condition (2008), short term (2010), intermediate term (2015-2020) and long term (2025). By using expansion scenario that is addition of irrigation area with a width of 1779 hectare and by governing of good cropping pattern, water availability at plan weir in Lintau Buo District still has its potency until the year 2025. Average water availability of 17,83 m3/sec per month at Batang Sinamar is enough to fulfill water demand in the region during the year nowadays and in the future until the year 2025, with average demand in the year 2025 ranging from 6,61 m3/sec up to 10,56 m3/sec. <br /> text |
