The addition of energizer can improve the effectiveness of pack carburizing by quickening forming of Carbon Monoxide gaseous. Others, to accelerate Carbon Monoxide forming, also can do with minimize size of energizer into smooth powder.<p>From hardness Vickers test result, we got Effective Case Depth (ECD). For the use of limestone powder as energizer, ECD maximum at composition of mixture 10%wt energizer and 90%wt charcoal. ECD yielded by that is about 1.10 mm. For the usage of marble stone powder, composition of the mixture optimum at 10%wt-20%wt energizer. Maximum ECD yielded at this composition is about 0.99 mm. For the difference size of energizer powder used, pack carburizing done at composition of the mixture with 10%wt energizer and 90%wt charcoal. Limestone powder as energizer with the smallest size (0.074-0.21 mm), give ECD is about 1.10 mm, and then for the biggest size give ECD about 0.59 mm. Furthermore, for marble stone powder as energizer, the smallest size give ECD is about 0.99 mm, and then for the biggest size of energizer give ECD about 0.64 mm. <br /> text |
