STUDY OF TOURISM POTENTIAL OF BOBUNG TOURIST VILLAGE BASED ON THE ASPECT OF SUPPLY AND DEMAND

One of the tourism forms being developed by Gunungkidul County Government is a tourist village. Bobung is one of the tourist villages located in Gunungkidul County. Its tourism development is undertaken by way of looking at the tourism potential possessed, which is based on the aspect of supply and demand. From the aspect analysis of supply and demand, the tourism potential of Bobung Tourist Village will be found whose results can be used to determine the steps to be taken in tourism development.<p>The results of the supply aspect analysis show that Bobung Tourist Village possesses several potential tourist objects that can be developed as a tourist attraction. Tourist attractions possessed by Bobung Tourist Village encompass potential nature, culture, and human resource. Accessibility to Bobung Tourist Village is easy. However, its tourism facilities have not yet fulfilled the needs of the tourists visiting this village. The people of this village fully support the efforts to develop tourism of Bobung Tourist Village. Meanwhile, the results of demand aspect analysis show that the vast majority of tourists visiting Bobung Tourist Village are students and university students.<p>The conclusion of the research is that Bobung Tourist Village possesses a variety of unique, rare tourist attractions that can be further developed to attract a large number of tourists. The market share includes local tourists and the market can be further developed into education tourism. Therefore, the County Government of Gunungkidul and Bobung Tourist Village Managing Board are recommended to realize Bobung Tourist Village as a fascinating tourist destination.<p>The weakness of this research is that the respondents involved are domestic tourists without involving any foreign tourist and this research does not discuss about agriculture. To make this research better and complete, further studies need to be conducted that will discuss about local people's economy whose area are developed into the tourist village and local people are to be empowered to develop their tourist village. <br /> <br />
