The test fuels are 10%-v coconut oil and diesel fuel blends, 100% coconut oil, and diesel fuel as datum. Results show that pure coconut oil gave higher BSFC (28,63%) and lower thermal efficiency (19,88%). Coconut oil-diesel fuel blends gave higher BSFC (13,13%) and lower thermal efficiency (9,86%). Coconut oil gave higher emissions especially in unburned hydrocarbon and smoke. Lower wear materials in fuel system prove coconut oil gave good lubricity. coconut oil gave lower combustion chamber deposit. In coconut oil blends and pure coconut oil experiments, injector choking is occurred.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> High viscosity and low LHV of coconut oil is the main reason of lower engine performance and worse emissions.
