This process is relatively effective only if a designer involved. For the work of collaboration, the effectiveness from the side of communication was difficult to be reached because still had paper as a base and the designed method that tend individual.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> This thesis promoted the topic concerning the interaction technique by using the virtual hands in the AR environment with the design scenario of residential area design. AR – Residential Area Design (ARAD) uses tracker library, which is marker-based, to track the human gesture. Kinds of interaction introduced in ARAD are manipulation of the model, manipulation of the street, button pressing, and duplicate the model. The interaction in ARAD designed to be natural and intuitive so that the user might not trained too long in using this application. By the existence of ARAD application, team of the developer could work together when designing a residential area.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> At the end of thesis, the experiment was conducted concerning the level of comfort using the application of ARAD. The result is almost all of the respondents did not experience the difficulty in interacting and all of the respondents agreed that AR technology will bring the new paradigm in the world of residential area design. text |
