Summary: | Study of hydrothermal mineralization deposit at Gunung Subang, Cianjur District, West Java, is to found out the characteristics of mineralization system. The characterization of mineralization system is the approaching methods of mineralization model which is the important tool for prediction and estimation of mineral deposit in exploration. The host rock is composed of tuff and andesite rock unit. The magmatic activity is characterized by calc-alkaline to high calc-alkaline. The NW-SE fault trending are the major fault in the area. Based on lineament analysis, there is coincident similarity of trending between extension pattern and vein in NE-SW. The mineralization are associated with quartz vein which has NNE-SSW trending (N15 degrees E/45 degrees E; N28 degrees E/ 75 degrees ; N20 degrees E /80 degrees; N350 degrees E/75 degrees) and the thickness varying from 30 cm-100 cm. The alteration type consist of silisification, argilic and prophylitic. The major element data show the adularia (K-feldspar)-sericite alteration tendension. The mineral assemblage consist of galena, sphalerite, pyrite, and chalcopyrite and quartz as dominant gangue mineral. The hydrothermal fluids temperature has interval between 210 degrees C-286 degrees C and indicating neutral to alkaline fluids. The salinity of fluids is ranging from 0.3 eq wt % NaCl s/d 2.7 eq wt % NaCl while estimation of depth of formation is about 305 m to 445 m below paleo water table. There are indication of boiling zone at Cicelak vein, which is indicated by the occurrence of bladed calcite and the occurrence of vapor rich together with other phase in fluids inclusion sample. Based on the characteristics above, the mineralization in research area can be categorized as Epithermal Low Sulfidation and dominated by Base Metal horizons refer to Buchanan model (1981). Based on mineralization type and characteristic, geological, alteration and structure mapping is the major exploration program which can be applied in the research are for the continuity of deposit purpose. |
