Summary:A portable reactor for Steam Reforming Methanol has been designed and catalyst of Cu/ZnO/Al2O3/SiO2 for reforming reaction was synthesized. We observed the activity of catalyst was still low,i.e, about 36 % of 4400C at contact time of 0.06 Kg(cat) s mmol-1. However, the designed reactor was very efficient in consupmtion of electric power (suffered only about 6.2 % heat loss). The product of reaction was also tested to an internal combustion engine by directly connecting the output of reactor to the intake manifold. The produced gas can only run the engine for a few second. Furher improvement is required to apply this reactor to the engine. <br />
