PROVINCE UN MAPPING IN INDONESIA THROUGH SINGLE LINKAGE AGGLOMERATIVE CLUSTER ANALYSIS

The final exam is one indicator among others which could give description about a province education condition. Reparation in order to increase the quality and to extent education is a government education development program. This paper maps the province UN result in Indonesia in 2007/2008, based on clustering to each subject, which is Indonesian Language, English Language, Biology, Physics, Chemist, Mathematics and total of all subjects through single linkage agglomerative cluster analysis. Before clustering, analysis with deskriptif at each subjects is the first step, and the result shows that Indonesian Languange UN is the best, this is because the ability of students almost in province to answer the test is high enough, except Midle Sulawesi Province, and Physics is the worst. Depend on the single linkage agglomerative cluster analysis result the grouping based on Indonesian language, biology and chemist subjects resulting 4 cluster, while English language, physics and mathematics resulting 3 cluster. From this result, some recommend produced, the lowest cluster to be priority their reparation by the government, specially above the minimum standard graduation, they are West Kalimantan Province for Mathematics, Physics, and Chemist subjects, East South East Nusa (NTT) Province for Biology and Chemist subjects, and Special Province of Yogyakarta (DIY) for Mathematics subject.
