The keen eyed government then made a program called Visit Indonesia 2008 whose then continued in 2009, in purpose to improve the economic development in Indonesia and pushed the development progress in every area in Indonesia through tourism activity. Visit Indonesia's program is a promotional product inside the country and abroad, implemented by each area to promote their own tourism potentials, including South Sumatra. The tourism promotional program in South Sumatra called Visit Musi has succeed to improve the South Sumatra's income to 200%. This fast improvement also takes effect in the growing tourism facilities.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> However the tourism development in South Sumatra still dominated in Palembang City with business travel as travelling reason, while in fact South Sumatra has many other tourism potencies to dig especially in nature and cultural travel. In other hand, even though there is a fast growing in the development of hotel in Palembang, most of the hotel still not applying the South Sumatra cultural beauty on its interior, even when the government already give suggestion to the hotel owner.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The present of a city hotel as example project that could give suggestion about the implementation of South Sumatra's element in hotel then become primer, especially in the point of view that hotel is a facility that could introduce the nature and cultural tourism potentials in South Sumatra to the visitors who come and stay in limited time. Beside providing the facilities to fulfills the hotel visitor's activities, this hotel also has gallery spreaded all over the hotel's area, thus able to introduce the visitors with the South Sumatra beauty indirectly. The fast and dynamic city life needs design that is simple and attractive yet also able to introduce the South Sumatra culture to its visitors, thus cultural product-simpledynamic become the right keyword to explain the hotel as result of mixing the cultural and dynamic aspect in one facility. text |
