Description
Summary:The acquisition, validation, archiving, and distribution of environmental data, have become a priority in 21st century. This case is caused by variety of factors such as, an increasing global population, global warming, and assessment of both potential and actual impacts of natural disasters, such as earth quakes, volcanic eruptions, flood, mudslides, and others. Environmental dataset is needed for research, planning and policy decision making. To produce more specific information and accurate for research, planning, and policy decisions, often takes the data aggregation process. The diversity of environmental data will complicate the process of merging the data, it is among others caused by differences geodetic reference system, resolution, and the difference in pixel coordinates. Therefore, needed a system that can be used to standardize the national environmental data storage so that various types of environmental data can be stored and can be universally understood.

At this final task has successfully created a grid system to store various types of environmental data in a variety of scale, to the territory of Indonesia. This system is made by setting geodetic reference system, grid resolution, the point of origin grid coordinate system, and grid numbering system that will be used. Grid system is a raster data and very well used to store and represent information about geographic features continuous and gradual change. With the multi scale method, various types of national environmental data can be stored in a container that has been standardized and universally understandable.
