Summary:The quick and significant development of Information Technology (IT) today has resulted in a change in technological role in an organization. It started from efficiency, effectiveness until to strategic roles. The effectiveness role is to exchange human role with a more IT; effectiveness role is to provide for information in effective managerial decision making. And curently, IT roles are not only for efficiency and effectiveness issue, but it has been strategic one, where it has been also used for competitive winning. Due to its strategic role, IT is also called as strategic weapon, because it has been utilized as effective tool for competition. And today, the organization can use IT also to make effectively to get its competitive advantage.<p>The ITSP preparation methodology that used consists of three processes, namely: Assessment, Strategy, and Monitoring and Evaluation. In the Assessment process carried out the analysis on the current condition of IT, how to learn the scope of university activities, formulate IT assumptions, analyzing the position of IT, analyze the IT situation, and determine the IT Portfolio System. In each step used tools as needed. Next on the Strategy formulated conditions of the future that are needed, along with preparation activities to achieve that condition. The next step in the Strategy Process is implementing the plan of activities that have been developed. The next process is the Monitoring and Evaluation, is done to ensure that the plan of activities carried out earnestly. This step is also useful to evaluate the steps that have been conducted so that revision can be made and as the preparation for the next cycle of ITSP. <br />
