In the last decades, the speciation analysis of organotin compounds has grown significantly, because this technique gives information more accurate about the existence of chemical species of the elements which express their toxicity.<p>The study about monitoring of marine contamination and organotin compounds toxicity, become wide attention, especially in advanced countries. This study is the activity of acquiring needed to sees besides ability of the bioaccumulation also by that toxic properties is very height on marine organism in a real low concentration (at ng/L level). The usage of this compound widely will have a negative effect to environment and human health. For this purpose, an analytical technique with high sensitivity and selectivity level for the speciation of organotin compounds is required.<p>Tandem technique of ion pair-reversed phase chromatography - hydride generation - quartz furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometry (IP-RP-HG-AAS) for speciation of organotin compounds has been depeloved in this research. The organotin species have been analyzed was monobutyltin (MBT), dibutyltin (DBT) and tributyltin (TBT), due to of their wide usage in industries and in daily life. An alkyl sulfonate has been used as ion pairing reagent for the separation of organotin species by ion pair-reversed phase (IP-RP) chromatographic technique. The organotin compounds can form ion pair with alkyl sulfonate with different ion pairing formation constant. Formation of ion pair species increase hydrophobicity of the species and can be retented on a non polar stationary phase. To increase the sensitivity of determination it can be realized by hydride generation (HG) technique, through a gas-liquid separator and a unit of hydride generator merged on line with AAS detector. text |
