The Earthquake in this region usually happened with less magnitude compared to Sumatra earthquake. But, in this region also have ever happened earthquake with large damage scale, like the Tasikmalaya Earthquake (September 2nd, 2009) and Pangandaran Earthquake (July 17th, 2006). For the purpose, the deformation pattern at Sunda Block still needs to be further investigated, especially in West Java region.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Now, various geodynamics study and research have been done. The instalation continuous GPS network in West Java is one of them. The purpose is to monitoring the movement of continuous GPS observation points so next the deformation pattern can be analysed. The GPS observation data result then processed by scientific software Bernese, next the GPS time series are plotted, so finally the time series analysis can be done. The next step is doing displacement and strain analysis from GPS observation points in West Java.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Time series analysis on this final exam aims to obtain sketch of displacement and strain pattern in West Java. The result of data processing that obtained indicates that Sunda Block moves horizontally south-east, relatively to ITRF-05 Network at about 2-3 cm/year. While for the vertical movement, there is variation in its movement. Besides that, the West Java region known that dominated by compression phenomenon with N-S direction. While dilatation phenomenon can be found in some West Java areas around Cimandiri Fault. text
