Description
Summary:Reservoir simulation study needs adequate knowledge about the correlation between porosity and permeability. It's related to reservoir characterization. But, reliable measurements are only available from core sample test in laboratory, and those are usually done only a small percentage of cored well. Therefore, both interpolation and extrapolations are needed to determine permeabilities at certain position needed in reservoir. But, unadequate data points usually cause unreliable in predicting permeabilities.

The purpose of this study is the use of Effective Hydraulic Pore Size method which is developed from Fluid Flow Equation in Pore Media in determining correlation more accuracy between porosity and permeability. Hopefully, determining permeabilities especially in uncored well will be more accurate. Based on the result, it can be seen that data points showed in double log plot between porosity and effective hydraulic diameter denoted by dH are less spreading than those based on HFU, therefore the correlation will be more better, and finally will be more accurate in determining permeabilities.
