Glycol improve shale inhibition, increase lubricity, torque reduction, and reduce differential sticking potential.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> This paper discusses the planning and eventual field application of such an optimised mud programme at XYZ field on Kalimantan. From previous well data, it was realised that the correct choice and optimised engineering of the mud system was of primary importance to the success of the project. The trial proved successful with this mud system to reduce drilling times, elimination of balling, improve shale stabilizer, and elimination of stuck pipe. text |
