Due to better migrating process from circuit switched technology to packet switched technology, soft switch whish is running on the packet switched network shall have a good method to interconnect with hard switch PBX which running on the circuit switched network. Having ability to communicate with hard switched is needed by soft switch due to migrating from circuit switched system to packet switched system. Another primarily requirement for softswitch is method to communicate with another softswitch. This ability needed by softswitch to anticipate the rapidly growth of softswitch. When talk about interconnection, trunk is the real issue. Trunk is the technology which allows multiple call pass through a single channel.<p>Nowadays a number of method has been deployed for trunking purpose. To implement trunk technology on the packet switched network, IAX2 protocol which has good method to decrease bandwidth requirement is used for the packet switched network. To implement trunk on the circuit switched network, writer use ISDN protocol with PRI for the interface. ISDN is the current technology most used as trunk between circuits switched based PABX. This final project goal is to designed and implemented trunk technology for packet switched network (using IAX protocol) and for circuit switched network (using ISDN protocol). As the result, this system is no running on the Lab. Wireless PT.Telkom in Geger Kalong, Bandung. As analytical result for IAX, it is proved that IAX protocol has an effective method due to bandwidth usage. Beside that, IAX use a single port to all communication process, which means IAX can be an alternative solution to run VoIP on the NAT. text |
