Description
Summary:Micro concrete is a mixing of artificial portland cement, fine aggregate (sand) and water with or without additive agent. As a common use of concrete, the fine aggregate used in this mixture is grouped at least into two fractions in order to get a similarity in term of grading as the normal concrete. That is the difference between the mortar and the micro concrete, where the fine aggregate used in the mortar is in the natural state. This thesis is produced by conducting the research, as an experimental study, of micro concrete using natural grain of aggregates, concerning to the compressive strength and flexural strength with various cement contents. Further, it is compared to the mortar related to its compressive and flexural strengths in the same composisition of portland cement, fine aggregate and water, as of the micro concrete. The test in this research is conducted in the laboratory of structure at Civil Engineering Departement, Institute of technology Bandung. This concrete type is not only used for making pavement, roof-tile, concrete-block and culvert, but also quite useful to be applied, as an alternative, in some regions where coarse aggregate is not provided.
