Description
Summary:Encapsulation is a technique of making a capsule by coating an active material used a polymer as cross linked. In this research, Eichhornoa crassipes in the form of powder have been encapsulated utilized nature polymer, sodium alginate. Sodium ions will be replaced by calcium ions formed calcium alginate gelatin. 3% (w/v) of sodium alginate and 3% (w/v) of calcium chloride solution produced spherical shape for the capsule. Meanwhile, the comparison of sodium alginate and powder of Eichhornoa crassipes succeeded for better adsorption at 2:1.
