| Summary: | Wimax (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is the latest telecommunication technology that provides broadband wireless access services. According to IEEE 802.16-2004, Wimax describes the two lowest layers of the seven OSI layers. Those are MAC layer and PHY layer. The PHY layer is responsible for establishing physical connection between two communicating entities, While MAC layer has two important functions, Those are flow control and error control. Flow control arrange data transmission, and error control ensures that data is transmitted error free.<p>ARQ (automatic repeat request) is one of the error control mechanism, to confirm safe data transmission. If a given packet data unit gets lost while transmitting or error is detected while receiving PDU, then Arq system automatically retransmits the lost pdu.<p>In this research, the writer is going to design the Arq software that can be implemented and integrated with MAC software that has already been developed from earlier project. <br />
