Description
Summary:Dam construction is needed by humans to provide their water need included irrigation, fresh water supply, fisheries etc. So it is important to build dam to keep water, especially for tropical people where hydrology cycle runs very fast. Meanwhile, dam construction provides big impact especially for the environment. The impact occurs in three stage of construction, which are pre constructional stage, constructional stage, and operational stage. Each stage has impact potencies to the environment. In this study, impacts that been studied are impacts to physical-chemical and biological components.<p>In pre construction stage, there are no impacts that effect the environment, because there are no physical activities on the site plan. In construction stage, physical-chemical components that impacted by construction activities are air quality, noise, and water quality. Biological components that impacted are flora, because the field preparation activity and fauna, which possibly migrated so they lost their natural habitat. In operational stage, physical-chemical component that impacted is water quality, which will be changed from flowing water into puddle water.
