DEVELOPING PRIMARY AND FACILITY BUSINESS PROCESS BASED ON EUROPEAN QUALITY IMPROVEMENT SYSTEM (EQUIS)

Globalization is a condition that unavoidable these days. Its effect can be felt in every single aspect including education. Indonesia, as one of WTO (World Trade Organization) member already signed General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS). GATS is an agreement in doing trade in services area including education. With signing the agreement, schools in Indonesia must be ready to face a tighter competition from foreign school. In other side, competitions also consist among schools in national level.<p>In Indonesia itself, educational improvements are constantly done for facing the competition. School of Business and Management (SBM) ITB which founded in the end of 2003 also realizes the importance of making improvement. For the moment SBM was being one of European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) member. EFMD is an international organization that concern in improving management development and also publishes the accreditation for business school in the world. One of EFMD's published accreditation is EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System). This accreditation is something that SBM ITB aims to compete with other school. <p>Facility function is one of the functions that support all activity in school. This function has an intention to make sure that school has the facility needed for achieving its goal. A method that can be done for supporting the school to achieve its accreditation is to have business process that match with the criteria that assessed to get EQUIS accreditation.<p>This final project offers IBEST (Integrated Business process for Education System) methodology to designing business process needed. IBEST itself consist of several steps which are identify EQUIS criteria, identify process that fulfill the EQUIS criteria, determine input and output, describe the relationship between processes and determine function component. These steps are implementing to get primary and facility business process. In designing facility business process also contain its key performance indicator.<p>After business process is design the next step is to make the implementation plan. This implementation plan consists of activities needed to be done in the next 18 months. Besides making implementation plan, this final project also consist of estimation on resources requirement. <br />
